Wood in Stockton are seeking a Principal Project / Interface Engineer to join us on a contract basis for a large Global project. The role will be primarily be based in Stockton but will work on a hybrid basis.
Responsibilities
- Project GI Scope management
- Managing project work sequence, activities and deliverables for Ground Investigation scope with knowledge and understanding of a contract.
- Understands and manages the Technical Engineering and project Management Disciplines and associated Scope.
- Ensures instructions are issued to allow work to progress and facilitates agreement between conflicting requirements and leads way forward.
- Challenges the working method and deliverables and ensures Contractors know and comply with the project scope.
- Understands the project Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) issues and ensures these are handled correctly.
- Identifies risk and implements mitigations.
- Verification of the site activities compliance with the contract and HSSE requirements.
- Effective Management of GI Subcontractor Performance.
- Verification of the contractor's progress.
- Prioritisation of the contractor's activities in line with the project schedule.
- Contractors' performance monitoring and reporting (Cost, Schedule and KPIs).
- Risk Identification and Mitigation.
- MOC and Risk Management process implementation and monitoring.
- Interface management between Client, Principal Designer and Principal Contractors.
- Coordinate Land Access-related processes and facilitate land access process.
- Assurance of technical quality and compliance.
- Integration with design and stakeholder (land, regulatory requirements, etc.) requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Prior background in project engineering preferable.
- Engineering experience, with infrastructure (undergrounds or electrical) is beneficial.
- Experience in an appropriate industry (ideally in one or more of Oil & Gas, LNG & GTL, Refining, Petrochemicals, Chemicals, Pharmaceutical, Power, Carbon Capture).
- Be commercially astute and understand the different approaches required to managing lump sum and reimbursable work.
- Have a broad technical knowledge.
