JOB DESCRIPTIONWood is currently recruiting for one Instrument Technician on a full time basis at SAGE Gas Terminal in St Fergus to ensure all instrumentation equipment is fully operational, in service and maintained in a safe and efficient manner as per statutory and company practices / procedures. To execute all activities safely and efficiently to agreed work plans, safety management system requirements and best working practices.Successful applicant will be subject to gaining and maintaining National Security Vetting to BPSS/ SC level.RESPONSIBILITIES Carry out preventative, planned and remedial maintenance as described in maintenance management system work instructions and as directed by Supervision. Plan and prepare all paperwork including risk assessments and permits, to complete the maintenance tasks. Responsible for carrying out Isolations on instrument and control systems in a competent manner, complying with Safety Management System and legislative requirements. Responsible for checks on safety and production critical equipment, reporting any deviation of set parameters and raise work orders in maintenance management system. Carry out fault finding and diagnostic checks on all site equipment, ensuring any repairs are addressed promptly. Ensure critical spares are available and any discrepancies are addressed. Provide technical instruction and guidance to ad hoc personnel and new team members. Minimizing downtime and contributing to the achievement of production targets Preparing technical reports as requiredInspection and maintenance of instrumentation equipment in hazardous areasQUALIFICATIONSQualifications: Level 3 VQ (modern apprenticeship) – Maintaining Plant – Instruments & Control, or Instrumentation Apprenticeship(BTEC/ ONC) or equivalent City and Guilds apprenticeship.Knowledge, skills and experience: ATEX Inspections COMPEX level 01-04 Maintaining Small Bore Tubing SBT01 & SBT02 Relevant Oil & Gas experience Familiarity with DCS, ESD, F&G, Fiscal metering, ISSOW and Maximo systems would be advantageous.ABOUT USWood is a global leader in consulting and engineering, helping to unlock solutions to critical challenges in energy and materials markets.
