The Opportunity
This opportunity is best suited for candidates in their penultimate/final year of study looking for a Summer role starting in June 2026 and concluding in August 2026.
Our Team
We work with Wood Mackenzie’s regional oil and gas sector experts to deliver research and consulting projects and provide economic valuation and analysis of thousands of oil and gas fields. We serve a range of clients, including national and major oil companies, governments, investment banks and institutional investors.
About the role
Collaborating closely with some of the industry’s leading subject matter experts, you will help to deliver insights that move markets. As part of the Global Upstream team, you will gain first‑hand experience of working in a commercial data and research environment – from monitoring industry activity, to analysing the economics of an oil field – you will start to discover what makes the global energy industry tick.

Requirements
- Studying towards a Bachelor’s degree or professional qualification with a quantitative, statistical, business, energy and/or economics focus.
- Strong collaboration skills.
- Creative problem‑solving ability.
- Analytical mind and eye for detail with basic understanding of data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, or comparable).
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Willingness to learn about our business from the ground up.
- Adaptability.
- Keen interest in the energy sector, with a focus on upstream oil and gas markets.
Wood Mackenzie follows a hybrid work structure; however, during the duration of this internship, the successful candidate would highly benefit from being in the office frequently with the team and their line manager. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the country this role is based in. We are unable to sponsor employment visas at this time.
