Role Description

Role Purpose
The role sits within the Power Trading Analytics (PTA) sales team, focusing on subscription renewals, cross-sell opportunities, and new customer acquisition, measured by sales results. You will develop and maintain relationships within our European STP client base, increasing penetration and managing complex relationships across different businesses and products, while helping new customers choose Wood Mackenzie. We seek a self-starter who can build on existing relationships, identify opportunities to solve client problems with our solutions, and excel in the sales process from prospecting to closing deals. The ideal candidate is results-driven, with strong commercial acumen, proactive new business development skills, and rigorous process application, including active use of Salesforce CRM. Customer-first, value-based selling skills are essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Deliver on-time subscription renewals, meeting quarterly targets
- Drive account growth through upselling and cross-selling
- Expand territory and onboard new clients to our Power Trading Analytics solutions
- Manage pipeline and sales forecasting effectively
- Collaborate effectively with teams to manage accounts and sales opportunities
About You
The successful candidate will have knowledge of the power or commodities trading sector, experience selling to these communities, and existing relationships with target firms. They should be comfortable with challenging sales targets and developing client relationships.
- At least 6-7 years’ experience in Sales/Account Management or Territory Management
- A proven track record of increasing revenue from existing and new clients, ideally in a subscription-based model
- Relevant experience in power trading or broader commodity trading
- Self-motivated, energetic, results-oriented, and a skilled negotiator
- Experience with client outreach, campaigns, and collaboration with marketing and internal teams
- Interest in personal development and growth, receptive to coaching
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Excellent collaboration skills in a complex, matrix environment
- Experience with CRM systems like Salesforce
- Proficiency in MEDDPICCC is a plus
- European language skills (French, German, Italian, Dutch) are advantageous
