Role Overview

Wood Mackenzie is seeking a Talent Acquisition Team Leader to drive our UK and regional technical recruitment efforts. This is a high-impact, player-coach role. You will manage a small team of global recruiters while personally executing senior and business-critical technical hires. You will partner directly with technology leaders to scale our digital, data science, and engineering capabilities, maximizing our Workday system to streamline operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership & Coaching (Coach)
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of recruiters.
    • Manage workload distribution and monitor team performance metrics.
    • Coach the team on Workday best practices to ensure seamless candidate management.
    • Act as the escalation point for complex recruitment challenges.
  • Hands-on Technical Recruiting (Player)
    • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for senior engineering, product, data, and commercial tech roles.
    • Build deep pipelines of passive tech talent using advanced sourcing strategies.
    • Deliver an exceptional, inclusive candidate experience from first contact to onboarding.
    • Take full ownership of the Workday ATS to ensure meticulous data integrity.
  • Strategic Partnerships & Delivery
    • Consult with senior tech stakeholders to map out workforce plans and talent requirements.
    • Leverage Workday data and analytics to provide leadership with market insights and progress reports.
    • Drive Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives within the hiring process.
    • Optimize recruitment workflows within Workday to reduce time-to-hire.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proven experience in a technical recruitment role, either in-house or agency.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or supervising other recruiters.
  • Hands-on experience using Workday ATS to manage candidate pipelines and generate reports.
  • Strong track record of hiring complex technical roles.
  • Deep understanding of the tech talent landscape.

Skills & Competencies

  • Mastery of advanced sourcing tools, LinkedIn Recruiter, and Boolean logic.
  • Ability to balance operational team management with individual hiring targets.
  • Superb stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using recruitment analytics to shape strategy.
