Wood Mackenzie moved under Private Equity ownership in 2023 and is now executing on its Value Creation Plan to deliver high growth.
As part of this growth plan, and to help embed a go to market transformation, we a have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the global Marketing team within Product Marketing, supporting the oils & gas portfolios.
We are looking for someone who thrives within a fast-paced, dynamic global business, who has a good understanding of the energy markets, and who has a strong sense of storytelling so they can pull together compelling customer narratives across a portfolio of products in support of business priorities.
This role sits at the intersection of Product Marketing, Sales and Growth Marketing, ensuring our portfolio resonates with target customers, supports pipeline progression, and enables upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
You will be able to translate portfolio strategy into clear, audience-specific positioning, messaging and commercial enablement that is clearly articulated, understood, and consistently delivered.
While this role is initially a fixed-term contract role, there is the potential to extend this into a full-time role based on need and performance.
- Main Responsibilities
- Audience & Market Insight
- Define and continuously update personas and workflows for priority audiences
- Develop a deep understanding of customer priorities, challenges, buying behaviours and decision drivers
- Map audience needs to the product portfolio, identifying growth opportunities across all relevant workflows
- Monitor market trends and competitive positioning, translating these into clear implications for messaging and commercial focus
- Product Positioning & Messaging
- Partner with Portfolio Marketing and Commercialisation leads to define audience-relevant propositions, bundles and plays
- Ensure messaging is clear, differentiated and consistent across all customer-facing touchpoints
- Define “why Wood Mac” for the portfolio within the context of the target audience
- Sales & Sales Enablement Partnership
- Develop and maintain high-quality sales enablement tools, including decks, battlecards, objection handling guides and case studies
- Establish strong feedback loops, capturing frontline insight and feeding it into Marketing and other relevant teams
- Support Sales Enablement with the effective adoption of messaging and tools through activation and guidance
- Go-To-Market Planning & Execution
- Own product positioning and messaging according to customer segmentation to enable effective communications throughout the full lifecycle of products, including launch, updates, and sunset to achieve agreed commercial goals
- Work with Product teams to understand roadmaps and create compelling value proposition messaging to be used in marketing programmes and sales tools
- As the marketing lead for your product portfolio in go-to-market and planning meetings, share product strategies with wider Marketing teams.
- Growth Campaign Support
- Work with Portfolio Marketing to ensure campaign messaging frameworks are grounded in audience insight and accurately position your product portfolio
- Support demand, upsell and cross-sell motions through audience-relevant narratives
- Ensure consistency between campaign messaging and broader portfolio positioning
- Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Define and track success measures related to messaging effectiveness, sales enablement impact and audience engagement
- Use data (e. g. pipeline progression, win/loss insights, content usage) to refine positioning and priorities
- Continuously improve messaging, tools and approaches based on performance and feedback
About You
To be successful in this role you’ll have proven experience in B2B portfolio or product marketing, ideally within energy, data or analytics businesses.
You will also have experience of working in large, complex matrix organizations.
You will also have a deep understanding of end-to-end GTM process and sales-led growth models and pipeline dynamics.

- Working Expectations
- We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant is expected to work from the office at least 2 days per week to foster good working relationships and contribute to our culture.
This may be subject to change in the future.
- This is a fixed term contract of 6 months, with the potential to extend.
- Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.
