Main Responsibilities
- The Sponsorship Sales Manager is responsible for building value propositions to meet client needs, working with the sponsorship content and operations teams to meet both team and individual revenue targets.
- The role holder will manage a diverse portfolio of customers across key Wood Mackenzie markets.
- The portfolio includes four global commercial events running throughout the year. These are mid-sized events (approximately 300–400 attendees) over one to two days, with opportunities to extend relationships through custom webinars.
- In addition, the role includes sponsorship sales across Wood Mackenzie’s award-winning podcasts, including Energy Gang and Interchange Recharged, as well as other digital sponsorship opportunities.
- There is strong potential for growth across all product areas.
Key responsibilities:
- Achieve and exceed conference and individual sales targets, as agreed with the Head of Sponsorship Sales.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase market share.
- Generate new business opportunities through networking, referrals, and digital outreach.
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals and presentations to prospective clients.
- Maintain consistent client engagement through meetings and calls to support pipeline development.
- Develop understanding of market trends and client needs to ensure value-led selling.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline, with accurate forecasting and reporting.
- Develop and grow existing client relationships while securing new business within assigned territory.
- Oversee smooth delivery of sponsorship contracts in collaboration with delivery teams.
- Maintain accurate CRM records (Salesforce) and provide timely sales updates and insights.
- Collaborate with entire sponsorship content and events team - act as the voice of the customer to support development of new and existing products.
- Represent Wood Mackenzie at industry events and through proactive outreach to grow account base.
Key Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in B2B sales, sponsorship sales, media sales, or account management.
- Strong track record of consistently achieving or exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting through to close.
- Excellent presentation, pitching and proposal development skills.
- Ability to engage, influence and build relationships with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to understand client needs and market trends.
- Experience working collaboratively across internal teams in a matrix environment.
- Highly organised with strong CRM experience (e.g. Salesforce) and accurate pipeline management.
- Confident networker with strong relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and thrives in a target-driven environment.
