Wood Mackenzie moved under Private Equity ownership in 2023 and is now executing on its Value Creation Plan to deliver high growth. As part of this growth plan, and to help embed a go to market transformation, we have an exciting opportunity for someone to join the global Marketing team in a new role as Senior Manager, Marketing Programs & Enablement. We are looking for someone who thrives within a fast-paced, dynamic global business and who has a keen focus on optimizing the ways of working to align strategy, enable teams and ensure programs and projects are delivered with clarity, pace and discipline.
This role is critical to driving our next phase of growth, requiring a candidate who has strong people skills, excellent project management capabilities, and who operates as a change agent across the whole department. This role will work closely with the CMO and the rest of the Marketing Leadership team.
Main Responsibilities- Marketing ways of working: You will build and evolve the Marketing operating model and ways of working to support scale, speed and execution discipline. Establishing frameworks for how work gets done, not the delivery of the work itself. Driving clarity on roles, responsibilities, and handoffs across teams.
- Strategy to execution planning: Translate strategic priorities and projects into clear, structured plans, roadmaps, and deliverables, building in delivery capacity and sequencing across the team. Ensure transparent execution tracking and drive accountability.
- Marketing Squads: Sit at the centre of all cross-functional Marketing squads as the orchestrator. Ensure clear objectives, timelines, accountability and effective collaboration while managing risks, dependencies and delivery blockers, escalating to the Marketing Leadership Team as appropriate.
- Operational effectiveness: Identify and remove bottlenecks and inefficiencies in delivery processes. Improve how teams collaborate, plan and execute work across functions. Build scalable processes that enhance productivity, coordination and delivery predictability.
- Marketing Enablement: Ensure ways of working are embedded and processes are understood and adopted. Run the Marketing Enablement training program for the team (with content often delivered by other teams), creating playbooks, templates and frameworks to drive adoption and consistency. Drive change management and establish feedback loops to continuously improve the effectiveness of how Marketing operates. Partner closely with Marketing Operations to ensure alignment between process adoption and supporting tools and systems.
- Leadership and culture: Help foster a culture of accountability, clarity, and delivery discipline. Build trust by creating predictability and transparency in execution and support the leadership team with better decision-making through structured planning and insight. Act as the connective tissue across Marketing, bringing cohesion to delivery.
To be successful in this role you’ll have proven experience in Marketing and project management. You will also have experience of working in large, complex matrix organizations. You will be able to bring structure and clarity to complex, ambiguous environments and balance strategic alignment with rigorous execution tracking. You will lead through influence and coordination rather than direct ownership of outputs, and raise execution standards across the department.
You will have:
- Extensive, varied experience in professional Marketing roles
- A growth mindset and solid strategic thinking
- Exceptional project management skills – qualifications in Scrum, Agile, Lean or Six Sigma a benefit but not required
- Strong experience in business operations
- Proven ability to build and run operating models, governance and delivery frameworks
- Strong communication, presentation, story-telling and writing skills
- An understanding of the end to end go to market process
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of how and where Marketing & Sales aligns and the interlocks and dependencies
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence and engage peers
- Highly structured, pragmatic, and delivery-focused mindset
- Demonstrated experience of stakeholder management and ability to influence at senior levels
- Experience of working autonomously within a matrix organisation
- Experience working with globally distributed teams.
We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, but this may be subject to change in the future. While this is expected to be a full-time role, flexible working arrangements will be considered. Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.
