  • Take strategic ownership of resource allocation and optimisation across the function to maximise sales effectiveness.
  • Drive the achievement of sales growth targets through effective leadership and strategic direction.
Business Development and Market Strategy
  • Lead the strategic development of market-leading understanding of customer value propositions across multiple specialisms.
  • Act as senior strategic ambassador for the business, driving communication of product enhancements and market developments across the organisation.
  • Provide strategic direction to teams including sales, customer focus, customer solutions, marketing, research, and consulting.
  • Lead strategic initiatives to broaden and deepen customer relationships at executive levels across complex sales cycles.
  • Take strategic ownership of customer retention where significant revenue is at risk.
Product and Market Expertise
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of sector trends, regulation, and competitive landscape across multiple natural resources sectors.
  • Partner strategically with Product and Research teams to shape development roadmaps based on market intelligence and customer feedback.
  • Lead the launch of new products and services across markets, ensuring strong market adoption and client engagement.
  • Provide strategic insight on emerging sector needs and trends to drive future solution development.
People Leadership
  • Attract, develop, and retain high-performing talent aligned with business priorities, fostering an inclusive and engaged team culture.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and other stakeholders to identify skill gaps, recruit effectively, and ensure diverse and high-quality hiring decisions.
  • Onboard new hires effectively, embedding Wood Mackenzie’s purpose, strategy, and culture from day one.
  • Drive performance through clear goal setting, regular feedback, coaching, and structured career development conversations.
  • Encourage ownership of Personal Development Plans (PDPs) and support continuous growth and career progression.
  • Conduct regular performance and talent reviews, addressing underperformance proactively while recognising and rewarding achievement.
  • Ensure effective communication, collaboration, and compliance across all team operations, including utilisation, policies, and engagement initiatives.
  • Lead engagement and retention initiatives to maintain motivation and reduce attrition.
  • Cascade company updates, share insights upward, and act as a trusted leadership voice within the organisation.
Expectations
  • Delivery of team sales targets.
  • Strong employee engagement scores within the team.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in addressing performance issues promptly and fairly.
  • Clear documentation of performance and development discussions.
  • Role model strong integrity and sets an example of WoodMac’s values and behaviours.
  • Maintains employee confidentiality, including personal data and information for management use only.
  • Supports business decisions regardless of personal agreement.
  • Addresses behaviours that may impact organisational culture and values.

We are a hybrid working company and the successful applicant will be expected to be physically present in the office at least 2 days per week to foster and contribute to a collaborative environment, but this may be subject to change in the future. Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones.
