Wood has a requirement for a Responsible Electrical Person (REP) to join the Dana Triton team for a core role.
Responsibilities
- Safety Management: Enforce the safe system of work (e.g., Lockout/Tagout, Test-Before-Touch) and issue safety documents like Permits to Work (PTW).
- Switching & Isolation: Plan, organize, and oversee High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) switching operations for equipment maintenance or emergency black-start situations.
- Hazardous Area Integrity: Manage inspections for potentially explosive atmospheres (Ex), ensuring explosion-proof and intrinsically safe equipment remains compliant.
- Team Supervision: Supervise a team of offshore electrical technicians, vendor representatives, and contractors, ensuring their competencies are up to date.
- Compliance & Auditing: Audit work processes and ensure all operations adhere to specific electrical safety rules and national offshore legislation (e.g., UK HSE standards).
Qualifications
- Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in offshore electrical maintenance, construction, or commissioning.
- Qualifications: Recognized Higher National Certificate/Diploma (HNC/HND) or a formal electrical trade apprenticeship.
- Authorisation: Status as a REP, Senior Authorised Person (SAP) or Authorising Engineer for High Voltage marine and offshore systems.
- Hazardous Area Certification: COMPEX certification (typically Ex01-Ex04) for explosive atmospheres.
- Offshore Survival: Valid Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS), and an OGUK Medical Certificate.
