Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Process Engineer on a contract basis to support our process engineering team for a minimum of 12 months. This role can be based in Glasgow or Stockton and hybrid working with the expectation of working 3 days from our office.

You will be joining the Glasgow & Stockton Process team and will have responsibility for process delivery across all stages of the design process on Pharmaceutical and Life Science Projects. Wood offers a wide range of services in the UK and overseas industries in Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences, O&G, Refining, Petrochemical, Chemicals, as well as working in the power sector and emerging technologies, such as Hydrogen and CCS in the energy transition market.

We are looking for engineers with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance on projects across the full life cycle, from studies through FEED and DD/EPC to ensure that Wood continues to differentiate itself from its competitors by delivering quality projects to our Client’s requirements. Applicants with technical skills and experience in Pharmaceutical and Life Science are welcome to apply. Relevant experience in a Process Lead Engineer role would also be an added advantage.

Expected:

  • Chemical Engineering Degree.
  • Chartered Chemical Engineer status (preferred).
  • Experience of working on and leading Studies, FEED and EPC projects associated with Pharms/Life Science.
  • Proven core Process Engineering skills, including design experience.
  • Self-motivated, proactive individual with high achievement drive and initiative.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and good organisational awareness.
  • Able to impact and influence fellow workers and engage directly with Clients.
  • Demonstrate successful project delivery through taking ownership of tasks and understanding the impact on other deliverables and disciplines.
  • Good technical/technology knowledge on Pharmaceutical and Life Science Projects.
  • Lead experience in delivering Studies, Schemes/FEEDs and DD/EPC Projects.
  • Provide both consultancy and technical assurance on projects.
  • Client facing and able to attend local client operational sites as requested.
  • Undertake process design work of units as required, supervise and check work of assigned engineers on the project as appropriate.
  • Execute process engineering activities within the budget and schedule, maintaining technical integrity of the designs.
  • Ensure that detail design methods, standards and data used conform with Client's requirements and/or those issued by Wood.
  • Responsible for the checking or approval of process calculations in accordance with Wood procedures.
  • Ensure a high standard of safety is achieved and Environmental and Quality Assurance procedures are followed.
  • Knowledge of UK/International Pharms/Life Science Industry Codes and Standards.
