Remarkable people, trusted by clients to design and advance the world. Wood is currently recruiting for a Materials Controller with extensive experience in the petrochemical industry. This role supports our Process and Energy business and will be based full time at our client's site in Teesside. The role is for a 12 month contract and we are open to either staff or contractor engagements.
The Role
The successful candidate will ensure the effective receipt, storage, movement and control of all materials to support the contract and business. You will liaise with Supply Chain, user groups, third parties, client and Supply Base & Marine contractors to ensure that all materials and equipment are received, marshalled and shipped in accordance with company procedures and internal controls. In this role, the Materials Controller will join a busy contract working closely with the wider Supply Chain team to ensure materials activities are carried out in accordance with the project execution within budget and in line with the project, processes and procedures.
We are looking for a logistical thinker with the ability to prioritise workload, work under pressure and within a team of Materials Controllers to ensure project deadlines are met.

Responsibilities
- Allocation, control, issue and marshalling of materials between different work locations and supplier in accordance with project requirements and schedule / vessel sailings
- Production of shipping documents for all materials movements
- Timely updating of procurement system with goods receipts / manifests / shipping documentation
- Identification of materials shortages and surplus
- Control of Inventory in accordance with required inventory regime e.g. FIFO / Kanban and ensuring accuracy thereof by monitoring of warehouse activity, cycle counts and stock checks
- Production of Materials Status reporting to project and client
- Attending Project Progress Meetings / Purchase Order Pre-Production Meetings
- Liaison with all Project personnel, client representatives, and suppliers where appropriate to resolve any materials supply issues
- Update the project / procurement status report (PSR) in line with project / client required on site dates and current / estimate lead and delivery times, notifying any delays to supply chain management
