Wood has an exciting opportunity for an Internal Communications Lead to join our team on a 12 month contract working directly with our client on the Net Zero Teesside (NZT) and Northern Endurance Partnership (NEP) projects. This role offers hybrid working from the Sunbury office where 3 days a week in the office will be expected. We are open to either fixed term or contractor engagements for the role.
The Internal Communications Lead will coordinate all internal communication activities across the NZT/NEP projects. The role ensures consistent, accurate, and engaging messaging across all contractor organisations, strengthens alignment on project charter behaviours, and supports culture-building initiatives. The role will work closely with the project management team to develop internal communication materials including emails, project updates and milestones, internal events including project town halls and reporting mechanisms to maintain high levels of engagement, visibility of progress, and delivery of key project messages.
The NZT and NEP projects represent one of the UK’s most significant decarbonisation initiatives, delivering large-scale carbon capture, transportation, and storage infrastructure. Successful delivery requires strong alignment and engagement across bp, multiple contractors, and a diverse site workforce. Effective internal communication is essential to sustain project culture, strengthen contractor partnerships, reinforce safety and charter expectations, and support leadership visibility across all worksites.
