Wood is looking to recruit an experienced fired heater specialist to work as part of a project management team to monitor and review the work of engineering contractors working on a major Middle East refinery and petrochemical development. The role will be based in Wood's Reading office and engaged on a temporary (agency) basis.
Responsibilities
- Provision of advice and support to the project on fired equipment, including burners, burner management systems, refractories, ducting, stacks and ancillary equipment.
- Review of data sheets, reports, specifications, drawings, procedures and other technical documents prepared by others.
- Evaluation of technical design proposals, alternate designs and vendor bids and preparation of reports summarizing evaluation and providing recommendations for future action.
- Attend meetings with client, other contractors and equipment suppliers.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience, primarily in a contracting environment, working with fired heaters and boilers on FEED and EPC projects for the oil and gas, refinery and petrochemical industries.
- Experience of undertaking PMC work on an oil and gas, refinery or petrochemical project.
- Extensive experience of engineering, design and selection of fired heaters and boilers and their ancillaries.
- Operations and Maintenance experience.
- Flexible attitude, with good written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with relevant API, ISO and ASME codes.
- Computer literate within Microsoft.
- Right to work in the UK.
