Wood is looking for a Senior Planner to support our Asset Solutions team on a long-term basis. This role is based at our office in Ellesmere Port and it is anticipated support will be required 3 days a week (24 hours), working primarily from the office with visits to other Wood offices/sites as required. The successful individual should preferably have experience in TARs/Outages and be familiar with tankage planning and maintenance scheduling.
The role involves:
- The preparation, review and reporting of accurate project schedules and plans in support of the robust control of projects throughout their lifecycle.
- Preparation and submission of project schedules and plans, ensuring they are prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and Wood & Client policies, procedures, and standards.
- Support the management of project schedules and plans, and the preparation and filing of project planning documentation.
- Act as the focal point for several project scopes concurrently.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain planning control structures in alignment with approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Develop and maintain baseline project plans and schedules using appropriate scheduling software.
- Monitor and control planning activities through all phases of project lifecycle.
- Liaise with engineering, procurement and construction functions, and others as required, including third parties, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements.
- Prepare and provide copies of project plans and schedules in accordance with project reporting requirements.
- Prepare and provide copies of project progress and performance status reports in accordance with project reporting requirements.
- Produce and issue updates to project plans and schedules.
- Assess and communicate schedule impact of change notifications.
- Monitor overall project progress status, achievement of major milestones, and evaluate project performance in relation to planned performance.
- Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings as required.
- Liaise with cost discipline to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests are properly assessed and included in the schedules.
- Participate in schedule risk analysis as required.
- Participate in Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews.

- Typically requires ISCED level 6 (Bachelors) Degree in a relevant technical or business discipline (or equivalent gained through relevant vocational training and/or industry experience).
- Relevant scheduling/planning experience preferably in an offshore environment.
- Proficient knowledge of Primavera and other scheduling software and related tools and techniques including Logic and CPM analysis, cost & resource loading and levelling.
- Proficient knowledge of Project Execution Procedures for Scheduling.
- Proficient understanding of WBS & CBS structures and project reporting capabilities.
- Ability to develop project schedules and plans.
- Ability to prepare cost and resource loaded schedules, progress and forecast staffing plans.
- Proficient understanding of earned value application, cost and schedule variance analyses/trending and what-if scenarios.
- Detailed understanding of project management principles and techniques.
- Good understanding of Cost Management, Change Control, Planning & Risk Analysis & Management.
- Proficient understanding of NEC and Lump Sum Contract mechanisms to support successful delivery of projects.
