Overview
As a Senior Commercial Advisor in the Process & Energy team, you will maximise commercial performance while managing project risks and supporting business growth. You’ll embed governance and commercial controls across Projects and Portfolios, resolve disputes, and contribute to tender governance. You’ll work hybrid, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver value for high-profile energy sector clients and drive profitability and risk-aware delivery.

Responsibilities
- Maximise commercial performance and manage project risks pre- and post-contract
- Commercialise sub-Business Group service offerings to support growth
- Ensure compliance with contracting policies and governance
- Resolve disputes/claims and cash collection issues
- Embed project controls governance across projects and portfolio
- Support tender governance for the sub-Business Group
- Develop and maintain commercial plans, including strategy, subcontracts, and profitability
- Cost analysis to maximise recoverable costs, minimise disallowables, and drive cost savings
- Prepare and analyse project forecasts, budgets, CVRs, and cashflow; manage WIP/debt to payment terms
- Conduct due diligence on Subcontractor payments and ensure timely certification
- Prepare inputs for reporting, participate in customer and internal reviews
- Develop subcontracting strategy and manage risk and documentation (DOAs, bonds, PCGs)
- Ensure compliance with client contracts and Wood processes; support post-contract risk management
Key requirements
- Strong experience in a similar role within Petrochemical, Process & Energy sectors
- Experience with multidiscipline framework contracts and MEISIP scopes
- Experience with NEC3/4, JCT, and client bespoke contract forms
- Knowledge of corporate/project procedures and contract administration
- Proven ability to prepare and manage change, risk, and commercial deliverables
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and ability to present
- Team leadership and ability to prioritise and solve problems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
