Wood is currently recruiting for a Global Process Owner (GPO) who will own the end-to-end Record to Report (R2R) process across the business. The GPO R2R reports directly to the Head of Finance Shared Services and Global Process and will be responsible for driving continuous improvement of effective and efficient R2R processes, whilst leveraging the right people, functional, operational and technical resources to ensure the process delivers the quality outcomes required by Wood.

The Role:
- A key element of this role will involve building strong relationships with functional leadership across Finance, HR, Business Operations teams, Supply Chain and IT across the business.
- Strong oral and written communication skills are required to build trust, rapport, respect and positivity around the system support team and how it can ensure we have a robust set of processes and systems that can be implemented, enhanced and supported in a sustainable model.
- Working closely with shared service functions to deliver appropriate support to the business from a systems and process perspective.
- Setting and reporting on appropriate SLAs / KPIs such that performance can be monitored and shared with the business and functional leadership.
Responsibilities
- R2R Process Ownership
- Own the end to end R2R process, from journal posting through to financial reporting.
- Act as the single point of accountability for R2R process outcomes.
- Define, document and maintain R2R policies, procedures and controls.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting standards and group policies.
- Period-End Close & Reporting
- Oversee month-end and year-end close activities.
- Ensure timely, accurate production of financial statements and reporting packs.
- Manage and monitor close timetables, dependencies and risks.
- Balance Sheet Governance
- Own balance sheet integrity across all entities.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliation standards and review outcomes.
- Challenge aged or unusual items and drive timely resolution.
- Ensure adherence to internal control and audit requirements.
- Delivery Oversight
- Provide functional direction and challenge to R2R delivery teams.
- Monitor service delivery against SLAs, KPIs and quality standards.
- Escalate performance, quality or control issues where required.
- Work collaboratively with delivery leads.
- Statutory, Audit & Compliance
- Support (if required) preparation of statutory accounts under IFRS.
- Act as R2R contact for external auditors and ensure audit readiness.
- Support VAT and corporate tax processes in coordination with tax teams.
- Stakeholder Management
- Partner with Finance teams e.g. Group Finance, Treasury, Tax.
- Liaise with Shared service teams - AP, AR, Payroll.
- Communicate clearly with senior finance and business stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement & Change
- Identify and drive R2R process improvements and standardisation.
- Support and drive automation, system enhancements and ERP initiatives.
- Contribute to finance transformation and operating model development.

Qualifications:
- Qualified to Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent experience.
- Accounting Qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
Skills and experience:
- Significant experience acting as a team player at executive levels to collaborate with business units and functional partners.
- Strong experience in Record to Report / General Ledger / Accounting to Close.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS.
- Experience working in a shared services or global finance model.
- Strong understanding of financial controls and audit requirements.
- Current working knowledge and proactive in continuous learning of industry best practices and enabling technologies.
- Ability to communicate, build relationships, trust and rapport with senior functional leaders.
- Significant experience in establishing and achieving challenging performance targets.
- Strong understanding of change management methodologies required to support large scale organisational change and transformation with a dynamic set of stakeholders.
- Ability to deliver projects to the business and understand the support model required.
- Experience with functional operating models, key processes, reporting structures, legal entity structures and how these are enabled within the system set up.
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle).
- A strong systems design thinking, focused on user-centric design orientation, with an understanding of process integration across multiple complex systems.
- Ability to develop, maintain key policies associated with the end-to-end process and a holistic understanding of the business at process level.
