Dietary Aide / Full Time /Variable Shifts

The Dietary Aide supports the hospital’s mission by assisting in the preparation, assembly, delivery, and sanitation of patient meals in accordance with prescribed diets, food safety standards, and infection control practices.

This role contributes to patient care and recovery by ensuring meals are accurate, timely, and safely prepared while maintaining a clean and efficient food service environment.

The Dietary Aide works collaboratively with dietary and clinical staff, treats patients and families with respect and dignity, and performs assigned duties in a manner that promotes patient safety and reduces the risk of healthcare errors.

Dietary Aide is an onsite position.

Essential Functions

  • Assembles prepared foods for regular and modified diets; safely delivers meal trays to patients or serving areas and returns trays to designated clean-up areas.
  • Prepares and serves between meal nourishments.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work effectively independently, or as part of a team, on a tray line in the main kitchen or cashier/steam table in the cafeteria, while maintaining efficient workflow.
  • Operates dishwashing machines or hand-washes non-machine-washable items; loads, unloads, and handles food-service equipment properly.
  • Cleans and sanitizes work areas, tables, cabinets, dishes, and utensils; consistently follows infection control and safety practices.
  • Washes, cleans, peels, dices, shreds food products using appropriate kitchen utensils and safe food-handling methods.
  • Prepare, prevent, protect and respond to support our culture of safety.
  • Works hours per week in accordance with offer letter or per attributes of position at transfer request. May be expected to work longer hours as necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience: One (1) year food handling in a healthcare setting
