Job Summary

As a Care Assistant we ask you to care for our residents like they are your own family, caring for their physical, psychological and social needs. You will assist residents with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene, dressing and assisting with meals. We provide full training and welcome applicants who do not have previous experience but have a passion for care.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 in Health & Social Care, or care certificate. All training is provided; these qualifications are desirable not essential.
  • Previous experience working in a Care Home environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of leading a team.
  • A committed and organised approach.
  • A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible to work shifts.

Other Duties

  • Attend Staff Meetings.
  • Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing needs and demands of the home, participate in appropriate training and encourage and support staff in their development.
  • Ensure a full understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, develop skills to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to adults who need care, recognise adult choice and control, and adhere to safeguarding and whistle‑blowing policies at all times.
  • Provide evidence of any untaken training.
  • Comply with fire procedures and health and safety legislation and work in a safe environment.
  • Complete all training as determined by the home.
