Wood Care Group is on the lookout for a Commercial Management Accountant who's more than just numbers-savvy – we're searching for a commercially astute, investigative thinker with the confidence to question the status quo, dig into data, and deliver real insight that drives strategic decision-making.
Monday to Friday position working 08:30 – 16:00pm.
Your Role: Not Just Month-End
As head of our accounts and payroll team, you'll be at the heart of managing and analysing the financial performance of our business. This isn't just about closing the books – it's about opening up the story behind the numbers. You'll work closely with the company directors, helping them make smarter decisions by delivering clear, data-driven insights.
Key responsibilities include:
- Producing accurate and insightful month-end accounts and financial result reports
- Providing robust commercial commentary that brings the numbers to life
- Analysing group spend to uncover trends, risks, and opportunities
- Collaborating cross-functionally to resolve variances and improve processes
- Supporting ongoing reviews of financial procedures to increase efficiency
- Completing VAT returns
