The predicted salary is between 12 - 14 £ per hour.

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will serve food sourced from Apetito, which provides a healthy, nutritious diet vital to ensuring our residents’ wellbeing and helping them enjoy daily meals. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards in the kitchen and during the food preparation process. You should be reliable, considerate, and caring in your approach. We are a family-run business, part of the Wood Care Group, and our employees are important to us.

Responsibilities

  • This is a part-time role working 3 days per week on a rota basis, totalling 16.5 hours per week.

About You

  • Previous experience working in a Care Home environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Experience of working in a busy kitchen environment.
  • A committed and organised approach.
  • A confident communicator with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work shifts.

Other Duties

  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing needs and demands of the home and participate in appropriate training.
  • Encourage and support staff in their development and training.
  • Ensure understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and develop skills to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect to adults who need care and support.
  • Ensure that adults are safeguarded in a way that recognises their choice and control.
  • Adhere to safeguarding and whistle-blowing policies at all times.
  • Provide evidence of any untaken training.
  • Comply with fire procedures and health and safety legislation and work in a safe environment.
  • Complete all training as determined by the home.
