Company: Wonders of Maths (WoM) is a lean, fast-growing EdTech tutoring company supporting students from Year 1 to Year 13 across key subjects (Maths, English, Chemistry, Physics, Reasoning). Powered by its platform Educai, WoM makes learning accessible to everyone by teaching in a way that resonates with each individual and benefits from a strong engaged community.
About the Role: Our team of 10 people is seeking a Tech and Data Lead who will:
- Own the data and analytics provision of our business.
- Leverage technology to strengthen operations, enable growth and deliver the company’s strategic plan.
As the company’s sole internal technical expert, you will own all technology and data across Educai and our supporting tools, directing and managing external resources to support rapid growth and operational efficiency. We’re looking for a proactive, experienced and detail-oriented Tech and Data Lead to start as soon as possible, to be the driver of our significant Technology and Data needs. In this role, you will report directly to the CEO and Founder and play a central role in supporting the next stage of our growth; we see technology as being critical to scaling beyond the typical brick-and-mortar tutoring model.
Responsibilities:
- Set the technical direction and provide technical expertise to help shape a big vision for Educai by leading the development and implementation of new products.
- Lead technical product initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and on-time delivery, including oversight of external development resources.
- Own and develop the organisation’s analytical capability, enabling high-quality decision making at both operational and strategic levels.
- Identify improvements that can be implemented with new tools, workflows, processes, or structural changes to drive high-quality outcomes.
- Design and maintain automated workflows, integrations and data pipelines. Ensure the company has dependable, scalable, and secure data infrastructure.
Required:
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong proficiency in analytical programming languages such as Python and SQL.
- Proven ability to deliver end-to-end analytics solutions with measurable business impact.
- Experience across a variety of technical and AI solutions, including data, analytics and machine learning.
- Demonstrated experience implementing operational automations and process optimisations to reduce administrative overhead and improve efficiency.
- Experience collaborating with stakeholders across the business to align data initiatives with operational needs, ensuring solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, or decision quality.
- Proficiency with AWS or other major cloud platforms.
- Experience contributing to the design and development of production web applications (backend, APIs, and architecture), ideally alongside applied data work.
- Experience applying data science or machine-learning techniques to natural-language data.
- Track record of leveraging AI to drive innovation and meaningful operational or commercial outcomes.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field.
