The Wonderfield Group has recently been purchased by Zensho Holdings, the leading food service company in Japan with a market cap of $5.5b and whose aim is to become the world's largest food company, a position from which we can eradicate hunger and poverty from around the globe. We operate restaurants, factories, and thousands of sushi kiosks and have recently built a successful cut fruit business, Snowfruit. Combining this with the three businesses previously owned by Zensho, AFC, Sushi Circle and Sushi Take, results in annual sales of $2.5b and Ebitda in excess of $140m a year with an ambitious growth trajectory.
As the Procurement Manager, you will take ownership of all procurement activity across a broad range of categories, specifically in food and beverage. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers, driving innovation, and ensuring that we have the best products at the best prices. You will support the Head of UK Procurement & Supply Chain in delivering the Purchasing Strategy across all channels of our UK businesses, including Taiko Foods and YO, and across all of our brands. Additionally, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and achieving our Group’s sustainability plans. You will oversee the procurement process, from sourcing and selecting suppliers to negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships. Working closely with internal teams, you will ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining high-quality standards. Your expertise will help us optimise costs and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Please note that this is a fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities:
- Driving cost savings and efficiencies in all categories
- Successful delivery of business projects through effective procurement measures
- Supporting the Head of UK Procurement & Supply Chain in the shaping and execution of the Purchasing Strategy
- Sourcing in line with our Sustainability policies and ensuring suppliers are aligned
- Liaising with the Supply Chain team to minimise stock risk
- Working alongside Marketing and Food Development teams in delivering exciting, first-to-market innovation
- Working closely with Technical teams to ensure Food Safety measures are adhered to
Key Requirements:
- Source products at best price and consistently benchmarking existing products to achieve reduced spend
- Continuous EPD to ensure optimum value on all spec attributes
- Use market knowledge and expertise to draft and develop Category plan for each key area, detailing and executing sourcing strategy
- Identify areas for improvement in supply base to continually drive performance and business results
- Source new suppliers based on business project requirements
- Negotiate and agree supply contract terms
- Run end-to-end tender processes for specific categories
- Responsibility for set-up and internal comms of new products, and existing product admin
- Issue Procurement updates to sites and Head Office
- Ensure all products are sourced in line with internal sustainability policies
- Maintain and build supplier relationships across all areas of the business
