This is a highly collaborative role that will involve working with publishing, commercial and technology colleagues.
As our Digital Product Manager, you will lead the evolution of our website, enhancing customer journeys, improving conversion rates, and scaling our digital product portfolio on the Shopify platform. You will be the bridge between design, engineering, and marketing, turning customer insights into usable, high‑converting digital products. You are not just managing a backlog; you are crafting an experience.
Responsibilities:- Design‑Led Product Vision: Own the product roadmap for the website, focusing on UX/UI improvements, storytelling, and brand elevation.
- Shopify Expertise: Leverage deep knowledge of Shopify Plus capabilities (themes, Liquid, Shopify Functions, app integrations, and checkout extensibility) to build scalable, high‑performance solutions.
- Data‑Driven Optimisation: Partner with analytics teams to translate data into A/B tests, product requirements, and feature enhancements.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Partner with External Design Partner and internal HN Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Experience teams to ensure a consistent, seamless user experience across all digital touchpoints.
- User Research: Conduct user testing, analyse heatmaps (e.g. contentsquare), and review customer support feedback to identify pain points and opportunities for design iterations.
- Agile Delivery: Manage the product backlog, leading agile ceremonies and ensuring high‑quality, timely releases of new functionality.
- 4–6 years of experience in e‑commerce product management, with a strong focus on UX/UI and conversion optimisation.
- Proven experience managing and deploying features on Shopify Plus, including understanding theme architectures, sections, and metafields.
- Demonstrable experience working in visual design, interaction design, and working with design systems (personally or through work with designers and agencies).
- Expert‑level proficiency with analytics tools (Google Analytics 4, Shopify Analytics) and experimentation platforms.
- High proficiency in Figma (for prototyping and reviewing designs) and project management tools like JIRA.
- A customer‑first, data‑driven, and highly organised approach to tackling complex e‑commerce challenges.
- Experience with front‑end development (HTML/CSS/Liquid) to understand feasibility.
- Background in a high‑growth DTC or premium consumer brand.
- Experience in re‑platforming or large‑scale redesigns.
- Experience managing contract development teams.
- Experience working with in‑house development teams.
- Passionate about some or all of the following areas – books, publishing, newspapers and history!
This role is a cross between a technical product management and a commercial e‑commerce management role. You will be working to create and ship digital product features, but always with a strong focus on commercial outcomes and mindful of wider trading and marketing plans.
For this reason we think this role would really suit a crossover candidate. By this we mean you might be a product manager with a few years under your belt but you want to start getting closer to the business side of the work … or, you might be an e‑commerce manager with a good few years experience but you want to start getting closer to the tech side of the business.
Benefits:- £70,000 – £75,000 per annum dependent on experience
- 25 days a year holiday allowance (excluding public holidays)
- Real mental health support with Spill
- Free breakfast and a fully stocked fridge in our London office
- 5% pension contribution, with no cap on yours
- Regular social events – theatre trips, sit‑down meals, sports day, just to name a few
- Quarterly all‑hands (with exceptional food, great company and a chance to reflect and plan)
- £500 per year learning and development budget
- Free books – and a lot of them!
