The CRO Analyst plays a critical role in driving continuous improvement across Sage’s digital experiences by turning data into actionable insight. You will be responsible for analysing user behaviour, conversion performance, and experimentation results to uncover opportunities that improve website effectiveness and conversion rates. Working at the intersection of data, UX, experimentation, and marketing, you’ll support data-driven optimisation strategies that enhance customer journeys and commercial outcomes. This role sits within the wider digital team and partners closely with experimentation, digital performance, UX, marketing, and user research teams to ensure optimisation decisions are rooted in robust insight and measurable impact.
Location - Hybrid 3 days per week from our Newcastle office and 2 days from home.
What Will I Be Doing?
- You’ll be responsible for analysing, interpreting, and communicating web performance insights, including:
- Analysing user behaviour and conversion performance using tools such as Contentsquare, Google Analytics, and Power BI to identify trends, opportunities, and conversion bottlenecks.
- Tracking and interpreting key KPIs including conversion rates, interaction rates, funnel drop-off points, and journey performance.
- Supporting CRO and experimentation teams with data-led insights to inform hypotheses for A/B testing, multivariate testing, and personalisation initiatives.
- Conducting deep-dive analysis of customer journeys and conversion funnels to identify friction points and optimisation opportunities.
- Analysing test results to understand what drove performance improvements and why.
- Partnering with user research teams to combine quantitative data with qualitative insight for a richer understanding of customer behaviour.
- Producing clear, actionable reports and recommendations for stakeholders across digital, marketing, product, and senior leadership.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards for CRO and web performance reporting.
- Owning the Contentsquare platform and driving its adoption and effective use across the wider organisation.
What We’re Looking For
- We’re looking for a highly analytical and collaborative individual with a passion for data-driven optimisation, including:
- Strong experience analysing web performance and user behaviour using digital analytics and insight tools.
- A solid understanding of conversion rate optimisation principles, experimentation, and customer journey analysis.
- Experience working with CRO, experimentation, UX, marketing, or digital performance teams.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear insights and practical recommendations.
- Confidence presenting findings to a range of stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a curiosity-led mindset.
- Experience supporting or analysing A/B tests and optimisation initiatives.
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar reporting and dashboarding tools.
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.
- A proactive mindset, eager to improve ways of working and drive continuous optimisation.
