The team you will be working with: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full data modelling life cycle, design, implement, and maintain complex data models that align with organisational goals and industry standards. This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, data modelling methodologies, and ideally in real-time data integrations. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal data structures that support business intelligence, analytics, and operational requirements. This role is creating, assuring, and overseeing the implementation of data models within analytical and real-time streaming domains.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models to support data analytics, streaming and data products implementation.
  • Define and maintain data architecture standards, principles, and best practices.
  • Ensure data models are aligned with business requirements and scalable for future needs.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, data solution architects, and data product teams to gather requirements and design solutions.
  • Provide guidance on data integration, transformation, and migration strategies.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise data models, data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation.
  • Ensure data models comply with organisational policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Optimise data products and their components for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Evaluate and recommend data modelling tools and technologies.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in data architecture.
  • Identify and resolve data inconsistencies, redundancies, and performance issues.
  • Provide technical leadership in addressing complex data-related challenges.

What experience you will bring:

  • Must-Have Competencies:
  • 8+ years data architecture experience - Enterprise-scale solutions across multiple sectors with proven delivery track record.
  • Technical leadership at scale - Leading 15+ person cross-functional teams and serving as technical escalation point for C-level stakeholders.
  • Cloud-native architecture expertise - Hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, data lakes, real-time streaming, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Full data lifecycle mastery - End-to-end expertise from ingestion to consumption, including governance, security, and both batch/real-time processing.
  • Business-technology translation - Ability to align data strategy with business objectives and communicate across all stakeholder levels.
  • Must be eligible for SC clearance.
  • Nice to Have:
  • Presales & business development experience - Track record supporting opportunity qualification, bid reviews, proposal development, and client-facing sales activities.
  • Multi-platform technology stack - Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, modern ETL/ELT tools, and relevant certifications (SnowPro, AWS/Azure Data).
  • Data governance & compliance - Strong background in security frameworks, regulatory compliance (GDPR), data lineage, and quality management.
  • AI/ML integration capabilities - Experience with MLOps, analytics platforms, and integrating AI/ML into data architectures.
  • Agile delivery & thought leadership - Proven agile/hybrid delivery experience with contribution to practice growth through proposition development and knowledge sharing.

Experience, Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years in data architecture, engineering, or consulting roles.
  • Education: University degree required.
  • Preferred: BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field; Snowflake certification(s) strongly desirable.
