Our team of 1,500 Personios is building user-friendly products that delight our 15,000+ customers and their million employees. Ready to make an impact from day one? This role requires 2 days per week in the office and is based in Munich, Berlin or London.

As a Senior Staff Product Designer, you will help to define the future of Personio's HR platform and lead key initiatives to evolve the product and our product design practice. You will own the functional strategy for your product area and coordinate stakeholders across disciplines and levels to ensure the team is delivering high-quality work that responds pragmatically to customer needs.

As one of the most senior individual contributors on the team, you'll leverage deep experience and design expertise to solve product design problems both for your team and the broader Personio system, building experiences and frameworks to support scaled design-thinking. You will bring understanding of industry best practices and trends to inform and inspire your work and others.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage entire work-streams, providing product direction through goal-setting and planning.
  • Develop thoughtful and inclusive design strategies, balancing ambitious, insight-driven goals with practical constraints.
  • Create high-fidelity deliverables (including hand-coded or AI-assisted prototypes) that articulate and inform product vision.
  • Identify emerging design patterns and create reusable and extensible abstractions and frameworks, connecting disparate projects to avoid or reconcile avoidable divergence.
  • Demonstrate commitment to uplifting the design team through a culture of excellence and empathetic support, mentoring designers and cross-functional peers through providing constructive critique and feedback.
  • Work with product, engineering, and other cross-functional partners to understand and design for the entire lifecycle of the customer experience.
  • Influence and shape product strategy at team, group, or product-line level.

What you need to succeed:

  • Exceptional in at least one dimension of design: Product thinking, Interaction Design, Execution, Craft.
  • Skilled in using high-fidelity and AI powered prototyping tools.
  • Experience creating reusable frameworks, tooling, rituals, playbooks, patterns, or processes adopted by others that improve how teams work.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multi-team, cross-org, or company-wide design initiatives.
  • Capable of spotting gaps in craft, proactively identifying and driving initiatives, and raising quality across the organisation.
  • Proven track record of shipping high-impact, multi-release product outcomes.
  • Operates with autonomy, accountability, and mature decision-making, thriving in ambiguity, and can bring clarity to complex or undefined spaces.
