An opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Technician based in Corby, Northamptonshire. The Vehicle Technician will be responsible for:

  • Inspection, service and repair of company commercial vehicles to Department of Transport standards.
  • Rectifying reported driver defects and carrying out other related duties.
  • Taking vehicles on road tests when deemed necessary for repair.
  • Taking vehicles for MOT testing or outside workshops where specialist repairs are necessary.
  • Collecting parts when a delivery cannot be made.
  • Undertaking repairs as required on forklifts and other associated equipment, provided such equipment is not sourced via contract hire.
  • Completing servicing documents relevant to the vehicle being worked on.
  • Cleaning off vehicles/parts to enable corrective maintenance to be carried out competently.
  • Attending vehicle breakdowns when required both on site and off site.
  • Providing ad-hoc cover for workshop supervisor when not on site.

Requirements:

  • Vehicle workshop experience gained through recognised apprenticeship or equivalent training.
  • LGV licence (desired not essential).
  • Competent with vehicle diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of bulk pressure systems (desired not essential).
  • Understanding of Department of Transport operating requirements.
