About Women’s Aid Federation of England
The Women’s Aid Federation of England is a leading national charity dedicated to supporting women and children affected by domestic violence. Established in 1974, the organization has been at the forefront of advocating for the rights and safety of survivors. With a network of over 170 member services across England, Women’s Aid provides vital support, including refuge accommodation, outreach services, and helplines.
Our mission is to empower women to rebuild their lives free from abuse. We believe that every woman has the right to live without fear and to have access to the resources necessary for recovery. Through our comprehensive training programs, we equip professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively support survivors.
Women’s Aid also engages in extensive research and policy advocacy to influence government legislation and public awareness regarding domestic violence. We work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including local authorities, law enforcement, and other charities, to create a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
In addition to direct support services, we offer educational resources and campaigns aimed at raising awareness about the impact of domestic violence on individuals and communities. Our vision is a society where domestic violence is not tolerated, and all women can thrive in safety and dignity.
