We have an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Liverpool FC team as a Senior Analyst, Marketing Operations.

This role sits primarily within the Marketing Operations team and is responsible for the delivery of targeted customer communications across email, SMS and other owned channels.

The successful candidate will lead audience selection, segmentation, campaign execution and quality assurance to ensure campaigns are delivered accurately, on time and in line with business objectives.

Working closely with stakeholders across Marketing, Digital, Commercial and Customer Insight teams, the role requires strong communication and relationship-building skills to gather requirements, provide expert guidance on campaign targeting and execution, and ensure activity is aligned with business priorities.

A key part of the role is understanding data compliance requirements and ensuring all activity adheres to these standards.

In addition, the role will support the Customer Insight team through digital and behavioural insight, campaign performance analysis and ad hoc reporting where required.

What you will be doing

  • Support the end-to-end delivery of marketing campaigns across email, SMS and push notifications in line with the Club's campaign schedule.
  • Interpret campaign briefs and execute audience targeting requirements through customer segmentation and data selection.
  • Build, test, QA and deploy campaigns, ensuring accuracy, compliance and best practice across all customer communications.
  • Create and maintain audience segments for email, SMS, CRM and social media activation.
  • Support the optimisation and development of automated, triggered and lifecycle marketing programmes.
  • Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders across the business, translating marketing objectives into effective customer targeting and campaign delivery plans.
  • Build strong relationships with Marketing, Commercial, Digital and Customer Insight teams to understand requirements, manage expectations and provide campaign delivery expertise.
  • Facilitate campaign planning discussions and provide recommendations on segmentation strategy, channel selection and customer contact strategy.
  • Clearly communicate campaign outcomes, optimisation opportunities and operational considerations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Maintain accurate campaign documentation, processes and operational records to ensure consistency and business continuity.
  • Support compliance with GDPR, regulatory and information security requirements, investigating data issues and maintaining appropriate system administration controls.
  • Produce campaign performance reports and provide data to support marketing measurement and optimisation.
  • Analyse customer, digital and behavioural data to provide actionable insights and recommendations where required.
  • Create insight reports and dashboards that support the Customer Insight team and wider business stakeholders.
  • Manage ad hoc requests for customer and marketing insights and attend cross-functional meetings to understand business requirements.

What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in CRM, marketing operations and data-driven campaign delivery, particularly within email and SMS marketing.

You will be highly organised, detail-focused and comfortable managing multiple concurrent campaigns while ensuring excellent levels of accuracy and compliance.

You will be an excellent communicator who enjoys working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.

Able to translate business requirements into actionable campaign plans, you will confidently manage relationships, challenge constructively where required and communicate complex data or technical concepts in a clear and engaging way.

Support for customer insight and performance reporting will form an important but secondary aspect of the role.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Business, Marketing, Mathematics or Statistics and will ideally have an understanding of commercial operations within a sports or membership-based environment.

Technically, you will have strong MS Office skills, especially Excel and hands‑on experience with email marketing and automation platforms.

You will also be a confident communicator with excellent stakeholder management skills, capable of translating business requirements into effective campaign solutions and explaining technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

You will demonstrate good knowledge of GDPR and data protection, experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and an understanding of Google Analytics and key digital marketing metrics.

SQL experience for data querying and experience working in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure and with Dot Digital, particularly automated and triggered programs, would be highly desirable.

You will also have an appreciation of database structures, data quality principles, and familiarity with agile methodologies.

Experience presenting campaign performance, recommendations and operational updates to stakeholders is highly desirable, as is the ability to influence decision-making through a combination of data, insight and strong communication.

To reward your hard work and commitment we offer a competitive salary, 25 days holiday (plus 8 bank holidays and the option to purchase up to an additional 5 days) and access to our benefits kit bag which includes but not limited to:
