The Team:

Our Data Science team sits at the centre of driving smarter, faster and more informed decision making across the business. Working in a collaborative product environment, we partner with stakeholders across operations and technology to solve complex challenges, improve performance and enhance customer experience. This is a team that values curiosity, innovation and real‑world impact – combining advanced analytics with commercial thinking to deliver solutions that matter.

The Role:

As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll lead high‑impact data science initiatives from concept through to deployment and monitoring, helping solve some of our most important business challenges. You’ll work across cross‑functional teams including Product Owners, Software Engineers and business stakeholders, building scalable analytical solutions that improve operational performance and customer outcomes. This is a hands‑on senior role suited to someone who can independently own projects, influence decision making and balance technical depth with strong stakeholder engagement.

You’ll also:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Data Science projects, from problem definition and modelling through to production implementation and monitoring
  • Analyse complex datasets from multiple sources to answer strategic business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Develop, validate and deploy predictive, simulation and optimisation models to support business performance
  • Translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in a product‑led environment to support operational and technology transformation initiatives
  • Mentor junior Data Scientists, providing coaching, technical guidance and knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to best practice development, helping strengthen Data Science capability across the organisation
  • Stay up to date with emerging tools, technologies and methodologies, evaluating opportunities for business application

Requirements of the Role:

  • Degree or MSc in a scientific, engineering or analytical discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering or Physical Science
  • Significant commercial experience in Data Science roles, with demonstrable progression in responsibility
  • Strong technical knowledge across key areas of the Data Science toolkit including programming, machine learning, data preparation, visualisation and predictive analytics
  • Exposure to optimisation, simulation or advanced analytical techniques
  • Experience delivering Data Science solutions within operational, logistics, manufacturing, process‑driven or similarly complex business environments
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects, prioritise competing demands and deliver results in fast‑paced environments
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with confidence presenting technical concepts to non‑technical audiences
  • Experience working alongside Product Owners, Software Engineers and cross‑functional teams
  • Strong commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to solving business problems
  • Passion for mentoring, collaboration and building analytical capability within teams
