We have a fantastic opportunity for a Data & AI Ethics Consultant to join our Data & AI Governance Team in the Royal London Group Data & AI Office (GDAO). The purpose of this role is to support the adoption and implementation of robust AI Governance practices across the Group, ensuring confidence and quality in data, delivering business value, and achieving excellent customer outcomes.
The role holder will assist business areas in executing the Group AI Strategy, ensuring compliance with Group policy and regulatory requirements. You will collaborate with stakeholders to help them understand, interpret, and successfully implement the AI Handbook policy standards. The Data & AI Ethics Consultant provides expert advice and guidance to the business on all Data & AI Ethics, Data Protection and Privacy-related matters. This includes supporting the accountable AI Use Case owners and technology sponsors with maintaining regulatory documentation such as Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and Records of Processing Activities (RoPAs), assisting with risk assessment and issue management, and delivering awareness and training activities. This role contributes to a culture of responsible AI adoption, embedding ethical considerations and privacy by design and supporting business areas to meet regulatory obligations while enabling innovation and good customer outcomes.
More about you:
- Strong understanding of EU AI Act, UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and PECR.
- Subject matter expertise in AI Ethics.
- Practical experience in defining and implementing AI Governance & Data Privacy frameworks, operating models and processes at a Group level / from within CDO / DPO organisations, and application of industry frameworks.
- Significant, hands‑on experience with one or more Data Privacy Compliance or Risk Management tools.
- Strong understanding of the MIT AI Risk Register and risk assessment methodologies.
- Awareness of Information security principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong ability and experience in stakeholder management, with a focus on business partnership and collaboration.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively engage with stakeholders and team members.
- Results orientated, reliable, delivers commitments, upholds standards and principles.
