About this role:

  • Remote working nationally within the UK.
  • NPCC is currently based in close proximity to St James Park underground station, London, and therefore occasional travel will be required to this premise and other Police locations across the UK.

  • Type of Contract: Fixed Term.
  • Contract Duration: 12 Months.
  • Band A.
  • The starting salary is £80,260, which includes allowances totaling £2,928.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong working knowledge of the digital, data and technology environment across policing and how technology directly enables and benefits policing aspirations.
  • Detailed experience and knowledge of implementing business change at a strategic level.
  • Knowledge of national issues across a broad range of subject matters to enable development and implementation of the committee involving stakeholders from across the Police Service and other relevant organisations.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills with the ability to intervene tactfully yet decisively when required.
  • Ability to communicate with and manage senior and executive level stakeholders, and create effective networks both within the organisation and externally.
  • Extensive, demonstrable experience of strategy, planning, and performance delivery within a large organisation and in a complex environment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to analyse and update reports on progress against delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in coordinating national committees or similar bodies in a policing or public sector context.
  • Proven track record of influencing senior leadership and fostering cross-agency partnership.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.

Vetting:

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required.

Once candidates identified for interview have been confirmed, CVs will then be shared with the appropriate Hiring Manager.

  • We are collaborative, Level 3 – Please give an example when you have demonstrated the ability to influence partners/stakeholders to deliver an effective service/outcome, in the face of competing priorities and opinions.
  • We deliver, support and inspire, Level 3 – The DDaT coordinator has to support the DDaTCC four sub-boards (comprised of local police force members) with their delivery plans to achieve core elements of the National Policing Digital Strategy. How would you personally ensure that they have the clarity to achieve their objectives and that their work is being effectively monitored and reported?
  • We are innovative and open-minded, Level 3 – Collaborative working with technology industry partners is an important part of the DDaTCC’s remit. Can you give an example of where you have researched and liaised solutions outside of your own organisation to innovate for a new way of working and what the outcome was?

  • Occasional national travel may be required.
  • Travel expenses will be paid if location allowance is not being received, or when travel falls outside of the home to work journey.
