We\’re looking for a Wealth Paraplanner to join our Private Wealth team in Newcastle. The team operates as part of Womble Bond Dickinson Wealth Limited and has a solid reputation for providing creative financial planning, tax solutions and investment advice to a wide range of private clients.
The team
Our Private Wealth team are a collaboration of lawyers, accountants, financial advisors and tax specialists. Their expertise are highly regarded and ensure that our clients\’ wealth is protected, now and for future generations. For law firms, this is a pretty unique setup which allows us to offer our clients the very best full-service advice possible.
The role
You\’ll join our Investments and Pensions team in Newcastle, working primarily on clients of the law firm, including individuals, corporates, trusts and charities.
Our Wealth Paraplanners have a crucial role in supporting the advisers, and on a day-to-day basis you\’ll attend client meetings, act as a key point of contact for clients, undertake research into financial products, prepare and present lifetime cashflow analysis, develop solutions and draft recommendation reports and letters. You\’ll also be involved in implementing those recommendations and regularly reviewing client portfolios. Much of our work is done in close collaboration with lawyers and accountants in the wider private client team, which allows us to formulate complex and holistic advice for clients which factors in the full range of financial planning, legal and tax issues.
The candidate
This is a busy team and you\’ll need to be prepared to work under pressure with a high volume of work. We operate in a highly procedural environment, shaped by the practices of a law firm as well as the usual FCA regulations, so a good grasp of processes and procedures is required. Your communication skills will be first-class, both written and verbal, and you\’ll have excellent technical knowledge, plus experience in recommending investments, pensions, and life assurance. Familiarity with a wide range of IT packages is expected, including Microsoft Office, plus ideally (though not essential) Intelliflo and Voyant or other cashflow analysis tools.
To be successful in this role, you\’ll need as a minimum;
- Experience of working within a financial planning environment
- RO1 to RO6 qualifications
- Experience in recommending investments, pensions and life assurance
