We appreciate that everyone has diverse career aspirations, and that sets us apart. One of the ways we respond to the dynamic nature of the legal sector is through our In-House Lawyers, GCSolutions panel. We have identified secondment opportunities across various exceptional clients and sectors. Our GCSolutions team is currently working on these opportunities for short and long-term secondments, as well as project-led initiatives. This successful initiative is now expanding to include more commercial lawyers seeking an exciting, alternative career path.
Unlike some flexible lawyer resourcing models, we give you the choice to work with us on a fixed-term employment basis or as a consultant. We offer a mix of remote and hybrid opportunities, are open to part-time or full-time roles, and support your work-life balance. Importantly, there are no fee targets or billable hours pressures. You'll be an advocate for WBD and help us develop growth opportunities within our business.
Working with us on a fixed-term employment basis provides stability through employed contracts and a salary. You'll be fully integrated into WBD, gaining access to our rewards, benefits, development programs, and support from our wider commercial team. If you prefer to work as a consultant or contractor, you'll receive a competitive day rate. This non-exclusive arrangement allows you to choose high-quality secondments that interest you.
What are we looking for? We are particularly interested in lawyers with expertise in banking, insurance, general finance, energy, infrastructure, construction, company secretarial, and public sector experience. You should have exposure to quality commercial work, providing valuable advice and sector insight. You may currently work in an in-house legal team or at a large, regional, or city firm with secondment experience. A thorough understanding of in-house risk and financial reporting obligations is essential. You will advise the business directly, reporting to GCs and senior management, so strong stakeholder relationship skills are vital for team success.
What makes it great to work here? We work hard to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms. Our culture emphasizes a human feel, showing that we're more than just suits! As signatories to the Mindful Business Charter, we prioritize our people's health and happiness. We offer resources and initiatives to support wellbeing, and are happy to discuss flexible working arrangements, whether full-time or part-time. Our DEI initiatives foster an environment where differences are valued. Led by our Board Sponsor, our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Group collaborates with colleague networks for race, ethnicity, cultural heritage, LGBTQ+, disabilities, families, and women's career development. We are continually expanding these networks to better support everyone.
We welcome applicants from all social backgrounds, ethnicities, disabilities, gender identities, and sexual orientations. We are committed to an inclusive and accessible recruitment process. If you have a disability or long-term condition requiring adjustments, please contact the recruiter on the right side of this page. As an in-house team, we aim to fill roles directly.
