We appreciate that everyone has diverse career aspirations, and that sets us apart. One of the ways we respond to the dynamic nature of the legal sector is through our In-House Lawyers, GCSolutions panel. We have identified secondment opportunities across exceptional clients and various sectors. Our GCSolutions team is currently working on these opportunities for short and long-term secondments, as well as project-led initiatives. This successful initiative is now expanding, and we are seeking commercial lawyers interested in an exciting, alternative career path.
Unlike some flexible lawyer resourcing models, we offer you the choice to work with us on a fixed-term employment basis or as a consultant. We provide a mix of remote and hybrid opportunities, are open to part-time or full-time roles, and support your work-life balance. Importantly, there are no fee targets or billable hour pressures. You will advocate for WBD and help us develop growth opportunities.
Working with us on a fixed-term employment basis involves employed contracts and a salary, reducing some risks. You will be fully integrated into WBD, gaining access to our rewards, benefits, development programs, and support from our wider commercial team. If you prefer a consultancy or contractor basis, you will receive a competitive day rate, working on a non-exclusive agreement with flexibility over the types of high-quality secondments you undertake.
What are we looking for? We are keen to hear from lawyers with expertise in banking, insurance, general finance, energy, infrastructure, construction, company secretarial, or public sector experience. You should have exposure to quality commercial work and be able to provide valuable advice and sector insight. You might currently work in an in-house legal team or at a large, regional, or city firm with some secondment experience. A thorough understanding of in-house risk and financial reporting obligations is essential. Your ability to advise the business directly, report to GCs and senior management, and build stakeholder relationships is vital for success.
What makes it great to work here? We strive to create an open culture that sets us apart from other firms. Our culture emphasizes a human touch, showing that we’re more than just suits! As signatories of the Mindful Business Charter, we prioritize our people’s health and wellbeing, offering resources and initiatives to support this.
