Our Residential team is one of the largest of its kind, and they have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join the Newcastle office. We support our clients in a range of projects, including PLC and regional housebuilders, mixed-use developers and investors, local authorities, registered providers involved in buy-to-rent affordable housing and regeneration. Our expertise in the sector, combined with our approach to client service, means we are rated as the premier housing team in the UK by clients and legal directories alike.
What will you be doing?
In the Residential team, you\βll be responsible for:
- Assisting solicitors with due diligence on residential development sites (e.g., title checks, property searches)
- Preparing draft documents and reports
- Assisting at exchange and completion stages
- Handling residential conveyancing and auction sales, including preparing contract packs and dealing with enquiries
- Post-completion activities such as Land Registry applications, requisitions, and Stamp Duty Land Tax returns
- Managing routine client communications and attending progress meetings
You will also support major residential schemes by managing documentation, carrying out conveyancing searches, and handling post-completion activities, working with housebuilders, social housing providers, and local authorities.
What are we looking for?
Previous real estate or paralegal experience is useful but not essential. A degree in law or GDL is desirable. Candidates without housing sector experience will be considered if they are interested in developing their skills in real estate.
We value high-quality customer service, initiative, ownership, excellent time management, and strong communication, numeracy, and literacy skills. Proficiency in IT software such as Microsoft Word and Excel is also important.
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Degree-level education
- Experience in managing and prioritising workload
- Computer literacy in Microsoft Office
