The predicted salary is between 25000 - 32000 £ per year.

With a national presence of over 200 fee earners across 8 locations, our Real Estate team are a force to be reckoned with. The team is big but it doesn't mean we've lost our personal touch. It's the quality and commerciality of our service, our industry insight and the talent and passion of our people that engages our clients, and they love what we do. Our Residential team is one of the largest of its kind and they have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join the Leeds office. We support our clients in a range of projects from PLC and regional housebuilders, mixed-use developers and investors, local authorities, registered providers through buy to rent affordable housing and regeneration. Our expertise in the sector, coupled with our approach to client service means that we are rated as the premier housing team in the UK by both clients and the legal directories.

What will you be doing?

  • Assisting the solicitors in the team with due diligence on residential development sites (e.g. title checks, property searches etc)
  • Assisting the solicitors in the team in preparing draft documents
  • Assisting the team in preparing reports
  • Assisting the team at exchange and completion
  • Residential conveyancing/auction sales– preparing contract packs, dealing with enquiries etc
  • Post completion – preparing Land Registry applications and dealing with requisitions, submitting Stamp Duty Land Tax returns
  • Making and receiving telephone calls to deal with routine client enquiries and communications
  • Attending progress meetings with clients
  • Managing documentation, carrying out conveyancing searches and dealing with post completion activities

You’ll be working with housebuilders, social housing providers and local authorities.

So what are we looking for?

  • Previous real estate and/or paralegal experience would be useful but is not essential
  • Degree educated, with a law degree or GDL being desirable
  • Interest in working in real estate and developing skills and knowledge
  • Ability to provide the highest level of customer/client experience in a fast paced environment
  • Ownership and initiative
  • Excellent time management and proven forward planning skills
  • Ability to prioritise
  • Good communication skills, numeracy and literacy skills
  • Experience of using IT software such as Microsoft Excel and Word

To be successful in this role you’ll need as a minimum:

  • Educated to degree level
  • Experience managing and prioritising your workload
  • Computer literacy, having had experience in using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
