Banking Lawyer in London

Our Banking & Finance team advises banks, alternative lenders, investors, public sector bodies and corporate borrowers on a broad range of financing transactions across the UK and internationally. Recognised in Chambers, we combine high-quality work with a genuinely collaborative culture. As our practice continues to grow, we are looking for an ambitious Associate (3-6 PQE) to join our London team. Based in our London Bridge office, you will be part of our London Banking & Finance practice and our wider national team. You will work closely with partners on a broad range of transactions including:

• Real estate finance
• Leveraged and acquisition finance
• Corporate lending
• Refinancings and restructurings
• Cross-border financing transactions

You will have the opportunity to:

• Advise on financing transactions from inception to completion.
• Take ownership of day-to-day transaction management and client delivery.
• Work directly with clients and develop long-term relationships.
• Collaborate with colleagues across multiple practice areas and sectors.
• Supervise and support junior lawyers where appropriate.
• Contribute to business development initiatives and the continued growth of the practice.

We are seeking a talented and commercially minded lawyer with strong technical capabilities and a genuine enthusiasm for banking and finance work. You will have experience advising on a range of banking and finance transactions and be comfortable managing matters with appropriate supervision. You will enjoy working closely with clients and colleagues, taking a pragmatic approach to problem solving and delivering commercially focused advice.

You will enjoy working collaboratively as part of a high-performing team and bring strong commercial awareness alongside sound judgement. You will have excellent organisational and project management skills, with a genuine interest in building lasting client relationships and developing your professional profile. This opportunity would suit someone who is keen to take increasing responsibility for managing transactions, driving successful client outcomes, and playing a key role in the continued growth of the practice. To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• 3-6 years' post-qualification experience as a solicitor qualified in England & Wales or Scotland.
• Strong experience in banking and finance transactions gained in private practice or an equivalent in-house environment.
• Excellent technical drafting and analytical skills.
• The ability to provide clear, practical and commercially focused advice to clients.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive and collaborative approach to working with clients and colleagues.
