What will you be doing?

If you're looking for a new role as a Paralegal, this job will offer you the chance to work on a broad range of private wealth matters in a supportive environment. Here's just some of the work that you'll be involved in:

  • Assisting with the administration of estates, including gathering asset and liability information.
  • Drafting correspondence, estate accounts and documents required for probate applications.
  • Supporting the preparation and submission of probate applications and liaising with HMRC and the Probate Registry.
  • Assisting with Inheritance Tax forms and related calculations.
  • Assisting with the drafting of a variety of documents including pre-action correspondence, court applications and witness statements.
  • Preparing bundles and supporting documentation for case management hearings, mediations and trials.
  • Meeting with clients (along with a qualified fee earner) to take initial instructions and understand the background to a matter.
  • Carrying out legal and procedural research.
  • Assisting with the management of wills, trusts and estate-related queries, as well as supporting litigation matters through all stages of the process.
  • Preparing engagement letters, maintaining good file management, ensuring timely responses to clients and supporting the financial management of files.

What are we looking for?

To be successful in this role you'll need as a minimum:

  • To have completed your law degree (2:1 or higher) or other equivalent legal qualification.
  • Experience of working as a Paralegal or Legal Assistant.
  • Experience managing multiple workloads simultaneously.

We would be particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience in litigation, probate, private client work and/or estate administration.
