CAD Technician / Draughtsperson
Location: Wilton
Contract: Approximately 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Start: Mid-October 2026
Wolviston Management Services are recruiting for an experienced CAD Technician / Draughtsperson to support our client on a short-term engineering project based in the North East.
This is a hands‑on draughting role primarily involving 2D AutoCAD, producing and updating engineering drawings from technical information, engineering mark‑ups and project requirements.
This is not a 3D Designer position, so would suit an experienced CAD Technician or Draughtsperson who is comfortable working accurately and independently within an engineering project environment.
Responsibilities
- Produce and update engineering drawings using AutoCAD
- Prepare drawings from engineering sketches, mark‑ups and technical information
- Amend existing drawings to reflect project and engineering changes
- Ensure drawings comply with project standards and conventions
- Maintain accurate drawing revisions and document control
- Incorporate engineering review comments and drawing amendments
- Work closely with Project Engineers and other technical disciplines
- Ensure work is completed accurately and in line with project deadlines
We are looking for
- Previous experience as a CAD Technician, CAD Draughtsperson or Engineering Draughtsperson
- Strong working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD
- Experience producing and modifying engineering drawings
- Ability to interpret engineering sketches, mark‑ups and technical information
- Good attention to detail and drawing accuracy
- Experience within an engineering, process, chemical, manufacturing or industrial environment would be advantageous
- Ability to work independently and manage changing project priorities
- Experience or training in AVEVA P&ID or AVEVA Engineering would be advantageous but is not essential.
