The Opportunity

Wolviston Management Services is seeking an experienced 360 Contract Recruitment Consultant to establish and develop a contract recruitment desk.

This is a genuine cold-desk opportunity for a commercially focused recruiter who is confident generating new business, winning contract vacancies and building a profitable contractor portfolio from the ground up.

You will manage the complete recruitment lifecycle, from identifying prospective clients and securing new requirements through to candidate sourcing, commercial negotiation, contractor mobilisation and ongoing account management.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, opening new client relationships and creating opportunities rather than relying on an existing desk or inherited vacancy portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, approach and secure new clients through structured business development.
  • Build relationships with hiring managers, procurement teams and senior decision-makers.
  • Secure contract, temporary and project-based recruitment requirements.
  • Take detailed job briefs and advise clients on market conditions, rates and candidate availability.
  • Source candidates through job boards, Linked In, internal databases, referrals and direct approaches.
  • Screen and assess candidates against client and assignment requirements.
  • Prepare professional candidate submissions and coordinate interviews.
  • Negotiate pay rates, charge rates, margins and commercial terms.
  • Manage contractor onboarding, compliance and mobilisation.
  • Maintain regular contact with contractors throughout their assignments.
  • Identify extension, redeployment and additional recruitment opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records within the recruitment database.
  • Achieve agreed revenue, margin, placement and contractor headcount targets.

About You

This role requires a proven 360 recruiter with experience of developing contract business.

You should be able to demonstrate

  • Previous experience as a 360 Contract Recruitment Consultant.
  • A proven ability to develop a cold recruitment desk.
  • Strong business development and client acquisition skills.
  • Experience securing and managing contract or temporary vacancies.
  • A track record of building and maintaining a profitable contractor book.
  • Strong commercial awareness, including rates, margins and fee negotiation.
  • Excellent candidate sourcing, screening and relationship-management skills.
  • The resilience, discipline and self-motivation required to build a desk from the ground up.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive, accountable and results-driven approach.

Experience recruiting within engineering, technical, industrial, manufacturing, energy, construction, project services or related markets would be advantageous.

However, applications are welcomed from experienced contract recruiters operating in other specialist sectors.
