Wolviston Management Services are recruiting on behalf of a growing and well-established specialist provider of Fire & Security, Electrical & Instrumentation, and Network Infrastructure services. We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Service Engineer to join a dedicated team covering the York area. About the Role
As a Fire Alarm & Emergency Lighting Service Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, fault-finding, and repairing a range of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems across commercial and industrial sites. You will play a key role in ensuring clients' systems remain compliant, operational, and fit for purpose while delivering exceptional levels of customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on fire alarm and emergency lighting systems
- Respond to service call-outs, diagnose faults, and complete repairs efficiently
- Conduct system testing, inspections, and remedial works in line with industry standards
- Complete and maintain accurate service reports, risk assessments, and associated documentation
- Provide technical advice and recommendations to customers where required
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
- Support audits, inspections, and accreditation activities as required
- Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle stock levels
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
What We're Looking For:
Essential:
- Proven experience servicing and maintaining fire alarm systems
- Experience with emergency lighting systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Excellent customer-facing and communication skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable:
- Experience servicing and maintaining CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems
- Installation and commissioning experience across fire and security systems
