Wolviston Management Services are currently recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Multi-skilled Engineer to join a well-established and forward-thinking organisation based in Teesside. This is an excellent opportunity to become a key part of a hands-on engineering team, supporting a diverse range of specialist plant, equipment, and research facilities. The role offers considerable variety and would suit someone who takes pride in high standards of workmanship and enjoys solving technical challenges across both mechanical and electrical disciplines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out mechanical and electrical maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on a wide range of machinery and process equipment.
  • Supporting installation, commissioning, and modification of plant to meet operational and project requirements.
  • Using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and technical drawings to undertake safe and precise engineering work.
  • Performing preventative maintenance and ensuring all activities are completed to high standards of safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Assisting with general engineering workshop duties, including equipment care, housekeeping, and material handling.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and supporting colleagues across engineering and operations.

Requirements:

  • Recognised engineering qualification, ideally Level 3 or above, in Mechanical, Electrical, or Multi-skilled Engineering.
  • Proven experience in a maintenance or engineering role within an industrial, manufacturing, research, or heavy engineering environment.
  • Confident in both mechanical and electrical disciplines, with competence in safe isolation, fault-finding, and working on mechanical assemblies, rotating equipment, hydraulics, or pneumatics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail, a diligent work ethic, and a commitment to safe working practices.
  • Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
