Wolviston Management Services are supporting a leading industrial client in the appointment of experienced Thermal Insulation Engineers for a major shutdown project on Teesside. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled shutdown team working within a fast-paced industrial environment, carrying out insulation installation, maintenance and removal activities to support critical plant maintenance operations.
As a Thermal Insulation Engineer, you will be responsible for the safe installation, removal, repair and replacement of thermal insulation systems across a variety of plant and process equipment. Working as part of a multi-disciplined shutdown team, you will ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards whilst adhering to site procedures and permit systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Installing and removing thermal insulation on pipework, vessels, tanks and associated equipment
- Measuring, cutting and fitting insulation materials to specification
- Applying metal cladding and weatherproof finishes
- Removing and replacing damaged insulation during maintenance activities
- Reading and interpreting insulation drawings and work packs
- Working safely under Permit to Work systems and site procedures
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and safety throughout the shutdown
- Supporting other trades and contractors as required to meet project deadlines
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience as a Thermal Insulation Engineer, Lagger or Insulator
- Experience working on industrial shutdowns, turnarounds or maintenance projects
- Ability to install insulation and cladding to a high standard
- Knowledge of thermal insulation materials and systems
- Strong awareness of health, safety and environmental procedures
- Ability to work effectively within a team and under tight shutdown schedules
- CCNSG Safety Passport or equivalent
- Previous industrial site experience
- Right to work in the UK
- Ability to provide relevant trade references
