Project Engineer Teesside Wolviston Management Services are proud to be supporting our client in the search for an experienced Project Engineer to strengthen their growing engineering function. This role offers the opportunity to join a forward-thinking manufacturer, taking a hands-on lead in the delivery of development and pre-production (NPI) projects. You\’ll be joining a small but ambitious team and this appointment will add valuable experience, structure, and leadership to the department. About the Role Working closely with engineering, procurement, and commercial teams, you\’ll take ownership for the planning, coordination, and execution of technical activities across multiple projects. From RFQ processing and feasibility assessments through to cost analysis, procurement and validation documentation, you\’ll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and in line with customer specifications. You\’ll also support the development of robust processes, documentation, and quality controls to drive continuous improvement across the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Lead and support the coordination of development and pre-production (NPI) projects. Manage RFQ processes, including material costings, feasibility reviews, and cost card completion. Conduct purchase order, sales order and contract reviews. Prepare, schedule, and monitor assigned engineering projects through to completion. Collaborate with clients to interpret technical requirements and ensure alignment with project scope. Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and oversee materials and subcontract requisitions. Develop specifications for equipment allocation and timing plans to meet project demand. Work alongside Project Managers and senior engineers to refine project methodologies and maintain profitability. Prepare project documentation including process flow diagrams, FMEA, validation protocols and PPAP submissions. Support data collection and performance tracking across all projects. What We\’re Looking For HNC/HND or Degree in Engineering or related discipline. Proven experience in a project or engineering environment, ideally within manufacturing or NPI. Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to lead and mentor junior engineers. Confident working cross-functionally and engaging directly with clients. Competent with project documentation, cost analysis, and quality procedures. Proactive approach to process improvement and continuous development.
