We are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Controls Specialist to support the development and implementation of structured project controls frameworks within a project-driven environment. This role will suit an individual with a background in governance, document control, and process optimisation, who is confident developing top-down frameworks and embedding best practices across all phases of the project lifecycle.

The successful Consultant will work to introduce consistency and structure to existing project control documentation and methodologies, supporting the transition from a decentralised approach to a standardised, auditable framework.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing and aligning project control documents including execution plans, cost control procedures, risk registers, and reporting templates
  • Developing a high-level project control process map across the full project lifecycle (initiation through to close-out)
  • Implementing QA-style processes and governance to ensure documentation aligns with industry best practices (e.g. AACE, PMI, NEC)
  • Supporting earned value management, cost tracking, scheduling integration, change control, and performance reporting
  • Creating structured workflows, RACI matrices, and quality assurance documentation

Consultant requirements:

Education and Accreditation:

  • Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or related field
  • Ideally holds professional certification such as APM, PMI (PMP), or AACE (e.g. CCP, PSP)

Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project controls or PMO roles
  • Proven experience in developing or restructuring project control processes
  • Familiarity with cost, schedule, risk, and change management controls across the lifecycle of large-scale infrastructure, energy, or engineering projects
  • Prior exposure to ISO or QA standards in documentation or governance is advantageous

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of earned value management, baseline control, and critical path analysis
  • Excellent document management, quality control, and process mapping skills
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, MS Project, and Excel
  • Experience using document management platforms such as SharePoint or Aconex is desirable
