Pilot Plant Laboratory Supervisor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join a leading organisation within the chemical process industry. This temporary role is based within a pilot-scale production environment at Redcar, supporting the development of advanced chemical manufacturing technologies. Key Responsibilities: * Overseeing and performing laboratory analysis using GC-FID, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and auto-titration methods * Maintaining, troubleshooting, and calibrating a range of analytical instruments * Managing laboratory inventory, including chemicals and consumables * Supervising day-to-day lab activities and supporting technicians with training and guidance * Ensuring laboratory practices comply with health and safety standards, including COSHH and risk assessments * Collaborating with operational teams to support data quality and process improvement Laboratory Supervisor Requirements: * Minimum HNC or equivalent in Chemistry, Analytical Science, or related discipline * Prior experience in a laboratory setting, ideally within a process or production environment * Proficiency with GC-FID and other core laboratory instruments * Strong knowledge of laboratory safety standards and documentation * Effective communicator with strong attention to detail and organisational skills This is a great opportunity to be part of a technically challenging and rewarding Laboratory Supervisor role within a dynamic pilot plant environment.
