Wolviston Management Services are delighted to be supporting our client, in their search for an experienced Mobile Dock Crane Operative.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team, operating heavy mobile dockside cranes to support the safe, efficient and timely loading and unloading of vessels. Working in a busy marine and logistics environment, you\’ll play a key role in keeping cargo movements on schedule and in line with strict safety and compliance standards.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate mobile dock cranes to load and discharge vessels with bulk, breakbulk and containerised cargo
- Carry out pre-use checks, daily inspections and ensure equipment is operated in line with training and manufacturer guidance
- Work to cargo handling plans, communicating effectively with stevedores, slingers/banksmen and vessel crews
- Adhere to all port, company, and statutory health & safety requirements at all times
- Report defects, incidents or near misses promptly and accurately
- Support wider port operations as required, including plant/equipment movement and yard duties
Candidate Profile
Essential:
- Proven experience operating large mobile dock cranes or similar heavy lifting equipment
- Valid crane operator licence/ticket (mobile dockside, crawler or similar)
- Strong awareness of health & safety and safe lifting practices
- Ability to work shifts, including nights and weekends
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
Desirable:
- EMSS/port safety card
- Previous experience working within a busy port or stevedoring environment
- Additional plant licences (FLT, reach stacker, loading shovel, etc.)
