We’re proud to support our client in the recruitment of a Maintenance Mechanic/Technician to join their on-site maintenance team, playing a vital role in ensuring the ongoing reliability and performance of plant operations.
This is a hands-on, multi-skilled position where you’ll be responsible for delivering both reactive and planned maintenance across a wide range of mechanical and electrical equipment. You’ll work proactively to minimise downtime, ensure safe working practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of plant reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out multi-skilled mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks to support production and infrastructure operations.
- Respond to breakdowns and carry out reactive maintenance in a timely, safe, and effective manner.
- Undertake routine and preventive maintenance programmes, including inspections, servicing and fault-finding.
- Diagnose faults and repair mechanical components such as motors, valves, gearboxes and pumps.
- Conduct welding and fabrication work as required, interpreting schematics and technical drawings.
- Install new machinery or equipment, ensuring correct setup and operational performance.
- Monitor and log equipment performance to identify trends or potential issues.
- Maintain appropriate stock levels of critical spares and consumables.
- Ensure strict adherence to Health & Safety procedures, including use of PPE, permits to work, and risk assessments.
- Deliver excellent service standards across the team and wider site.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven experience in a similar maintenance role within an industrial, manufacturing, or engineering setting.
- Strong mechanical background with additional experience in electrical maintenance.
- Confident in welding techniques and comfortable interpreting mechanical/electrical schematics.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Sound understanding of safe systems of work and site Health & Safety protocols.
- Flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to support weekend or shift work as required.
- Good communication skills with a proactive, ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Basic computer literacy to complete maintenance logs and access technical data.
- Comfortable working at height and in confined spaces.
